NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) is an autonomous institution affiliated to VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University). NMIT offers Diploma, UG and PG courses in Engineering, Technology and Management. NMIT was the youngest engineering college to be awarded autonomy in the year 2007. The institution has highly qualified faculty with 90% of members with Ph.D. and 10% pursuing their doctorate in different research centers of NMIT as well as other institutions.
NMIT has been involved in Research & Development in the cutting-edge areas of Engineering science. NMIT has established various multi-disciplined research centers recognized by VTU/Mysore University:
- Center for Design and Development of Satellites approved by ISRO.
- Center for Design and Development of Robotics in collaboration with Indo-Korean Institute of Science and Technology.
- Center for Aerospace Engineering.
- Center for Nanomaterials and MEMS.
- Center for Fluid Dynamics.
- Center for Engineering & Process Simulation.
Along with these there are several sponsored projects from different organizations such as: DRDO, ISRO, DST, DIT, VGST, ICSSR etc.
